Donald Trump’s lawsuit against New York Times is THROWN OUT by judge who branded it too long and too petty

Posted on September 21, 2025 By admin

Donald Trump’s $15 billion lawsuit against The New York Times was recently thrown out by the judge, just four days after it was filed.

The decision to do so was made after the judge dubbed the matter too petty and long to consider, resulting in a major blow for the Trump administration.

Now, the American head of state has a 28-day period to refile his defamation claim after Judge Steven’s decision, which called the 85-page-long document as florid and enervating.

Any futher filings needs to be limited to 40 pages as per the New York Times. Meanwhile, a spokesperson for the newspaper shed light in a statement: ‘We welcome the judge’s quick ruling, which recognized that this complaint was a political document instead of a serious legal filing,’- it continued.

Judge Merryday blasted Trump for waiting until the 80th page of his lawsuit to formally accuse the paper of defamation.

He similarly went on to suggest that Trump made use of the filing as a soapbox to air his grievances on the matter against the paper of record. ‘A complaint is not any public forum for vituperation and invective, not a protective platform to rage against an adversary’- he continued.

The judge added how such a complaint isn’t a megaphone for public relations or any kind of podium for a passionate oration at any political rally or the functional equivalent of the Hyde Parker Speakers’ Corner.
