Donald Trump has five children with three women. His youngest, Barron Trump, is 19 and his only child with Melania, whom he married in 2005. When Melania told Trump she was pregnant in 2006, his initial reaction wasn’t what she expected—he was surprised, but later happy. Trump admitted he didn’t expect it to happen so quickly.
Barron grew up in luxury, even painting on the walls of his Trump Tower floor. While Donald wanted more children, Melania was content with one, calling life “very busy.” Coming from a working-class background, she aimed to give Barron a grounded perspective. In her memoir, she described scenes of him playing amid her work, and in interviews, stressed the importance of showing him what ordinary working life looks like.
Trump’s previous marriages to Ivana Trump (1977–1990) and Marla Maples (1993–1999) brought four other children: Ivanka, Donald Jr., Eric, and Tiffany. Despite wanting a larger family, Trump and Melania ultimately had just one child together.
