An Australian father diagnosed with younger-onset dementia has shared a shocking update eight months later.
Fraser, 41, was originally told he had early-onset Alzheimer’s after experiencing severe memory lapses, such as forgetting movies he’d already watched or where his daughter was. He started a YouTube channel, Younger Onset Dementia, to document his journey.
However, in a recent video, Fraser revealed doctors now say he doesn’t have Alzheimer’s. After further scans and tests showed minimal cognitive decline, specialists concluded his symptoms were caused by mental health issues, not dementia.
“They explained my anxious brain has trouble filing memories properly,” Fraser said, admitting, “I didn’t want it to be mental health — but it is.”
