Rosie O’Donnell Speaks Out After Daughter Chelsea’s Prison Sentence
Rosie O’Donnell is breaking her silence after her 28-year-old daughter, Chelsea, was sentenced to state prison for violating probation. The 63-year-old comedian shared a raw Instagram post, expressing love and heartbreak as her daughter faces a difficult future behind bars.
Chelsea, one of O’Donnell’s five children, has struggled with addiction and legal troubles. Between September and December 2024, she was arrested three times in Wisconsin on multiple felony charges, including child neglect and meth possession. After pleading guilty in March 2025, she received six years of probation with strict conditions.
By October 2025, Chelsea violated her probation—reportedly tied to sexual assault allegations—and was sent to state prison after being held in Marinette County Jail.
Posting a childhood photo of Chelsea, O’Donnell wrote: “My child chelsea belle – before addiction took over her life – i loved her then i love her now as she faces a scary future – prayers welcomed.”
In a statement to People, she added, “Chelsea was born into addiction… we continue to love and support her and her four young children through these horrible times.”
