Prince Harry and Meghan Markle Reportedly Falling Out of Favor in Hollywood
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are reportedly losing favor in Hollywood amid growing frustration with their work style and a string of failed ventures. According to Page Six (Nov. 4), insiders say the once-celebrated couple has lost their appeal among Los Angeles elites. “Even the goodwill they once enjoyed has evaporated,” one source said, while another added that people are “just sick of them.”
Industry sources describe the pair as “difficult” and “unprofessional.” Reports claim Harry once arrived late to a Netflix meeting and asked an executive to make him hot chocolate, while others say Meghan is controlling and dismissive. A Vanity Fair producer called working with her “really awful,” and The Hollywood Reporter noted that “staff were terrified of Meghan.”
Once media darlings, the Sussexes’ projects have struggled to attract interest. Their 2022 Netflix docuseries Harry & Meghan was a hit, but follow-ups like Heart of Invictus (2023) and Polo (2024) underperformed. Meghan’s lifestyle show With Love, Meghan was criticized as fake and out of touch. Their $100 million Netflix deal has since been replaced by a smaller first-look agreement.
Still, the couple remains close with Netflix CEO Ted Sarandos and are reportedly developing new TV projects.
Meghan Markle Returns to Acting
Despite once saying she was “done” with acting, Meghan, 44, is returning to the screen with a cameo as herself in the comedy Close Personal Friends (Amazon-MGM Studios), also starring Brie Larson and Lily Collins. Filming began in Pasadena, where sources say Meghan appeared “sweet and down-to-earth.”
This marks her first acting role since leaving Suits in 2017 ahead of her royal wedding. Meghan and Harry now live in Montecito with their children, Archie, 6, and Lilibet, 4.
Meghan continues to produce Netflix content, including With Love, Meghan: Holiday Celebration, set to premiere this December under Archewell Productions’ renewed first-look deal.
