Donald Trump’s New Washington Project: “Arc de Trump”
Donald Trump has unveiled ambitious plans for new White House and Washington, D.C. projects. After tearing down the East Wing to build a grand ballroom—sparking mixed reactions about erasing history—he’s now eyeing an even larger construction.
According to Axios, Trump plans a $100 million monument called the “Arc de Trump”, modeled after Paris’s Arc de Triomphe, to commemorate America’s 250th anniversary. A model of the arch was displayed in the Oval Office during an October 2025 press conference.
An insider told Axios, “There’s a small arch, a middle arch, and a large arch—and he likes the large one, of course, as long as it’s big and gold and white.”
The monument would be privately funded and positioned to greet visitors crossing the Memorial Bridge from Arlington National Cemetery. Designs include marble eagles and a gold Lady Liberty statue, with the structure towering larger than the Lincoln Memorial.
Trump said, “Every time somebody rides over that beautiful bridge, they say something is supposed to be here. We have versions of it… This is a mock-up.”
