Woman Adopts Non-English Speaking Girl, Is Shocked to Uncover the Truth When She Learns to Communicate – Story of the Day

Posted on November 22, 2024 By admin

After learning she couldn’t have children, Annie’s doctor suggested adoption, leading her to Abiona, a girl from Congo who didn’t speak English. Initially uncertain, Annie agreed to adopt Abiona, and when they met, the silent girl communicated through drawings. Over time, Abiona began to learn English and eventually shared a heartbreaking secret: she had been taken from her biological parents by “bad men,” and her only memory of her mother was a honey-scented toy.

Months later, Abiona fell critically ill, and a doctor revealed she had a terminal disease. Desperate to fulfill her daughter’s final wish, Annie traced Abiona’s biological mother, Tendey, who coldly rejected her. Undeterred, Annie hired an actress, Sarah, to impersonate Abiona’s mother using honey-scented perfume. Abiona, in her weakened state, accepted Sarah as her mother before passing away peacefully in Annie’s arms.

As she mourned, Annie whispered, “You were loved. So loved. I’ll keep loving you forever.”
