Former President Joe Biden Completes Radiation Therapy for Prostate Cancer
Former President Joe Biden has finished several weeks of radiation therapy for an aggressive form of prostate cancer, his spokesperson confirmed Monday. Biden, 82, is “doing well,” though his team has not said whether more treatment will be required.
Biden marked the end of his treatment by ringing the ceremonial bell at Penn Medicine, as seen in a video posted by his daughter, Ashley Biden, who thanked the medical staff. “Dad has been so damn brave throughout his treatment,” she wrote.
Biden began radiation and hormone therapy earlier this year after being diagnosed in May with advanced, hormone-sensitive prostate cancer that had spread to his bones.
Since announcing his diagnosis, Biden has expressed gratitude for public support, writing on X: “Cancer touches us all. Jill and I have learned that we are strongest in the broken places.”
