Brad Pitt is suing his ex-wife, Angelina Jolie, for $35 million over their French winery, Château Miraval.
Once Hollywood’s “it couple,” Pitt and Jolie divorced in 2016 after two years of marriage and have since been locked in a long legal battle. The latest dispute stems from Jolie’s sale of her stake in the winery to a third party, which Pitt claims violated their agreement not to sell without mutual consent.
Court documents and emails from late 2023 reveal Pitt is seeking damages for alleged harm to Miraval’s operations. Jolie’s lawyers argue the lawsuit is self-inflicted, saying Pitt must produce documents showing the supposed losses and questioning his need for a four-year NDA tied to his personal conduct.
Pitt’s legal team maintains that Jolie denied an agreement they both made about the winery sale, while Jolie’s team calls the suit an attempt to “harass and control” her. The next hearing is scheduled for December 17, 2025.
