Shocking reports are speaking about a rail smash incident that took place during the evening hours near Pezinok in Slovakia.
Two passenger trains collided after one ran into the rear of the other near the Slovak capital of Bratislava. Preliminary reports on the matter shared how there was no derailment and the collision was not head-on.

The crash involved nearly 800 passengers across the two trains. Around 79 people were hospitalized after the tragedy, while most of them were said to have suffered from minor injuries.
13 remain in the hospital, and none were in life-threatening condition, but one passenger described the scene as terrifying when a loud bang was heard at the moment that the impact occurred.

Slovakia’s PM Robert Fico indicated that the likely cause is human error, while he declined to accept the resignation of Transport Minister Jozef Raz.
This collision comes less than a month after another serious crash in eastern Slovakia on October 13, in which dozens were injured. Rail traffic between these two regions was halted, and bus services stepped in to transport stranded passengers. The investigation is ongoing to determine the cause of this crash. Most of the fault-finding is being focused on operational procedures and signalling, instead of mechanical failure.
