Sally Kirkland, the Golden Globe-winning actress, has died at 84.
TMZ confirmed her passing just days after she entered hospice care in Palm Springs, following a dementia diagnosis last year.
A GoFundMe page set up by friends revealed she had been battling life-threatening infections after a fall in the shower, which caused rib and foot injuries.
A veteran of the Actors Studio and New York’s 1960s avant-garde scene, including Andy Warhol’s Factory, Kirkland gained acclaim for her role in Anna (1987), earning an Oscar nomination and a Golden Globe.
Over a six-decade career, she appeared in more than 200 films and TV shows, including JFK, Bruce Almighty, and Roseanne.
