The parents of two Australian teens who passed away in Laos have begged Australians to remove the destination from their bucket lists.
Ahead of the anniversary of their daughters’ deaths, the parents slammed the Laotian government as corrupt in an interview with the Herald Sun.

They also explained how there is no evidence that police have carried out an investigation into the tragedy. Best friends Holly and Bianca were both on a trip of a lifetime when this incident arose in the tourist town of Vang Vieng in November last year, when they accidentally consumed methanol.
The duo passed away alongside four more staying at the Nana Backpackers hostel. The colorless, odorless poison can give rise to serious illness and can be fatal if it’s just 0.85 fluid ounces when consumed.

Shaun Bowles and Samantha Morton mentioned how they were so disappointed in the investigation so far, adding, ‘We recognize how corrupt and unhelpful the Laos Government has been, and there’s no evidence whatsoever to claim that there is any type of investigation taking place’- their post read.
The family hopes and prays that others don’t undergo the same kind of suffering that they have, as it’s been a tough year without their loved ones.
