A funeral was held for two young kids who passed away after sleeping inside a cold van at the Detroit casino parking garage at the start of the month.
Sources from local media outlets shared more on the matter including how the mourners gathered at the Triumph Church to pay respects to Darnell Currie Jr. As per the Detroit Free Press and the Associated Press, the incident was a major tragic ordeal.
Some attendees wore a pink honor of A’millah while others were seen donning football jerseys in honor of Darnell who adored the sport as per the Detroit News.
The mother of two young kids was seen crying at the service as per the outlet which reported more about the kid’s father Darnell Currie Sr.
Speaking about the tragic ordeal, that drew national attention across the board, Williams explained how the kids died when she kept the heat on for them. There were four kids and two survived but the other two died as well as her mom.
At one point, the car stopped running and she didn’t notice. When she went to get the little ones up for school, she noticed how they wouldn’t wake up and were gone.
