At least four people were killed and more than five more were injured aftar a boat capsized off the coast of Imperial Beach in San Diego recently.
The incident arose in the early hours of the day, and the vessel was said to be involved in a suspected maritime smuggling event as per the authorities.

Border Patrol agents shared how the boat was crossing the US waters, just before the tragedy ensued. At about midnight, the boat overturned near the South Seacoast Drive and Encanto Avenue.
This led to a prompt night-time search and rescue operation by the US Coast Guard with assistance from the Chula Vista Fire Department and other agencies.

Rescuers were able to retrieve one body from the water while three more were located near the Imperial Beach Pier. The survivors were said to have sustained minor injuries and were rushed to local hospitals.
Latest reports suggest that the Coast Guard is carrying out scans in the area for any more victims.
