First Lady Melania Trump and Second Lady Usha Vance made their first joint outing Wednesday, visiting military families at Camp Lejeune in North Carolina. They met with families, spoke with students at Lejeune High School, and joined discussions on AI.
During a brief speech, Melania thanked military families for their service, though technical issues interrupted her remarks. Afterward, she shared greetings from the president and expressed appreciation for the sacrifices made by service members and their loved ones.
Melania also issued a serious warning during the school’s AI discussion, saying that artificial intelligence will reshape the future of warfare. “AI will alter war more profoundly than any technology since nuclear weapons,” she said, predicting increasingly automated conflicts where AI “takes center stage in the theater of war.”
