The controversy over the Epstein files has dominated headlines for months. Most of the public agrees the files should be released, regardless of who they implicate, yet their disclosure has been repeatedly delayed.
Trump campaigned on releasing the files, but later dismissed the Epstein scandal as a Democratic “hoax.” That changed this week. Under pressure from Epstein’s victims, Democrats, and even some Republicans, Trump reversed his stance. On November 20, he signed a bill ordering the release of government files related to Jeffrey Epstein.
Trump announced the move by suggesting it would expose Democrats’ ties to Epstein. These files differ from the 20,000 pages released by Congress last week, some of which reference Trump. Epstein himself once wrote: “I am the one able to take him down” and “I know how dirty Donald is.” Trump insists he cut ties with Epstein in the early 2000s.
Mark Epstein, Jeffrey’s brother, claims Trump’s sudden shift has a hidden motive. Speaking to NewsNation, he alleged the files are being “sanitized” to remove Republican names, and said he’d been told the ‘scrubbing’ is happening at a facility in Winchester, Virginia. He also claimed FBI director Kash Patel is involved.
Mark has long argued that Trump’s ties to Epstein were deeper than Trump admits. “Jeffrey definitely had dirt on Trump,” he said. “Trump can deny it, but it’s clear he’s lying.”
