The House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer has just ordered Bill and Hillary Clinton to appear for depositions next month for the panel’s investigation into the offender Jeffrey Epstein.
If not, they would be facing possible contempt of Congress. Comer subpoenaed the former first couple at first on August 5 to answer several queries about their relationship with Epstein.

In response, the Clintons had asked for their clients to make merely a written proffer of what little data they have.
Given the admission that your clients possess some relevant data, your position amounts to the demand that this Committee forgo in-person testimony, potentially relevant to the legislative oversight, the chairman mentioned.

Furthermore, your suggestions that your clients’ testimony wouldn’t be relevant to the stated purposes of the Committee’s investigation due to events in question that took place outside of the Clintons’ respective official duties missed the main point, Comer added.
“It’s precisely the fact that President Clinton and Secretary Clinton each maintained relationships with Epstein and Maxwell in their personal capacities as private individuals that is of interest to this Committee,”- this post adds. Many wonder if Trump would be treated in the same manner for his close association with Epstein.
