Des Moines International Airport was briefly shut after a plane ended up sliding off the runway during landing.
According to reports from local media outlets, the incident took place late at night on Saturday when the plane was attempting to make a landing at the airport in Iowa from Detroit amid a strong winter storm when the incident arose.

A Delta Airlines plane ended up sliding off the runway during its landing attempt. All of the passengers were safe and sound and were seen currently deplaning onto buses for transport towards the terminal.
No injuries were reported following this incident.
The plane remained on the pavement while waiting to be formally released by the National Transportation Safety Board, as per local media outlets. The airport was given the green signal to reopen on Sunday. The statement released to the public stated: ‘We anticipate the airport might be reopening by mid-morning today. The cause of this incident is yet to be determined, and investigations are taking place, it added.
