Most Americans already view convicted killer Bryan Kohberger as a monster, but new reports say he’s acting like a “prison diva.” The 31-year-old, who murdered four University of Idaho students in 2022, is now at Idaho Maximum Security Institution — and he’s reportedly busy complaining about bananas.
According to the Daily Mail, Kohberger has filed several grievances, the latest being that the bananas he’s served “aren’t the kind he likes.” Prison staff have dismissed the complaint, telling him to “deal with it.”
This comes after earlier complaints where he said inmates taunted him through vents, kept him awake, and threatened him with sexual abuse. Officials ultimately kept him separated from other prisoners for his own safety, though he still complained about the type and size of his cell.
Experts say his behavior is about “power and control,” suggesting Kohberger still believes he has leverage even after avoiding the death penalty with a guilty plea.
Kohberger was arrested a month after brutally stabbing students Kaylee Goncalves, Madison Mogen, Xana Kernodle, and Ethan Chapin in 2022. He pleaded guilty to four counts of first-degree murder and one count of burglary.
