According to reports from TMZ, legendary director Rob Reiner and his wife, Michele Singer Reiner, were found dead in their Brentwood, California home on Sunday, December 14.
Law enforcement sources say both suffered knife-related injuries, and the LAPD’s Robbery Homicide Division is investigating. Authorities have stated there are currently no suspects or persons of interest as the investigation continues.
A family spokesperson expressed deep sorrow and asked for privacy. The Screen Actors Guild also paid tribute to Reiner, a longtime member.
Rob Reiner, 78, met Michele Singer Reiner, 68, on the set of When Harry Met Sally, and they had been married since 1989. The acclaimed filmmaker and actor rose to fame on All in the Family before directing classics including This Is Spinal Tap, Stand By Me, The Princess Bride, and When Harry Met Sally.
The couple shared three children, and Reiner also had a daughter from a previous marriage.
