A shocking new video was recorded at a Cinnabon located in Wisconsin that showed an employee getting into a heated altercation with a muslim couple from Somalia.
The couple had put in a simple request with the employee for extra caramel on their cinnamon roll. In the bizarre footage shared, she started to mock the woman’s hijab and even began to use obscene gestures and stated some very racial slurs like ‘I am racist!’ Since then, the incident has been going viral and sparked serious backlash online.
The franchise was forced to make a swift decision, and soon enough, it confirmed that the worker was fired after they learned about the online video.
The company condemned the act and stated that such actions were totally irresponsible and did not portray the values of Cinnabon. It reaffirmed its commitment to being a welcoming environment. In reply to calls about her racist behavior, the worker Wilsey started to defend her behavior on social media.
She mentioned that she was not at fault and had every right to defend herself against harassment from the couple, which was never shared online. “I have a colored son, I can never be racist,” she added.
