The 2018 Parkland school shooting survivor from Florida, Donovan Joshua Leigh Metayer, has passed away at the age of just 26.
The tragic news was confirmed by his loved ones, and it is believed he took his own life, but no other details on the cause were revealed.
A shocking and heartbreaking post was shared by his sister, Nancy Metayer Bowen, who mentioned more about the death on December 15, following a 7-year-long battle with schizophrenia.
Donovan, who was an IT professional, was a senior at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland when a mass shooter opened fire, leaving 17 dead in February of 2018.
They hoped and prayed that other families would not suffer in silence the manner in which they have. This was followed by some thoughtful lines about Donny, who was a radiant child and excelled academically. ‘His smile lit up any room magicall,y and we will deeply miss him,’- the post concluded.
