Barry Manilow has revealed he has been diagnosed with lung cancer, forcing him to postpone his January arena tour dates to undergo treatment.
The 82-year-old singer shared the news on Instagram, explaining that a recent MRI—ordered after weeks of bronchitis—found a cancerous spot on his left lung. Doctors believe it was caught early and has not spread. Manilow said the spot will be removed surgically, with no chemotherapy or radiation planned.
His January tour, which included nine shows in Florida, has been rescheduled for late February, March, and April. He apologized to fans for the changes and reassured them he plans to return to the stage soon.
Manilow, a former heavy smoker, urged fans to prioritize their health, writing: “If you even have the slightest symptom, get tested.”
