Tragic reports have confirmed the death of a former professional footballer from Germany who was recently killed in a terrifying accident.

Sources shared how the tourist was killed in a ski-slope chair lift accident in Montenegro, right in front of his wife.

34 year old Sebastian Hertner passed away at the Savin Kuk ski resort near the mountain town of Zabljak after a double chairlift got detached from the cable and collided with the seat behind it as per initial reports.

The incident arose while the couple were on a holiday in the Durmitor mountain range which is a popular winter tourism area in northern Montenegro on Saturday.

Hertner is believed to have fallen from the lift and passed away at the scene. His 30 year old wife was also riding with him.

She was left trapped in the chair and had to be rescued by emergency services. In the aftermath of the tragedy, she suffered from a broken leg and was rushed to a nearby hospital for medical treatment. At least three more tourists were also stranded in their chairs for a few hours before rescue teams could read them.
