A professor who was fired by Austin Peay State University over his controversial post on social media regarding Charlie Kirk has now been reinstated and offered a paycheck of $500,000.

Darren Michael was an associate professor of acting and directing at the university, and he got reinstated last month, according to local media outlets.

The school did confirm that they would be paying him the hefty sum of funds as part of a settlement agreement linked to his termination.

The public university in Clarksville would also work to reimburse Michael for therapeutic counseling services.

“APSU agrees to state with great regret for not enabling the tenure termination process in connection to this dispute”- the agreement shared.

This statement would now be distributed through email via the APSU’s reasonable communication network to all respective parties, such as teachers, students, staff, and more, they concluded.
