At least 31 people were killed, and dozens more were injured after a construction crane ended up collapsing onto a moving passenger train in Thailand.
The incident arose on Wednesday, north of Bangkok, after the train left Nong Nam Khun station. It had reportedly set off from Bangkok and was busy heading to Ubon Ratchathani province.

A police superintendent explained how the incident arose at 9 am local time as construction work on the express train line was still taking place.
The crane ended up collapsing onto a running train leaving from Bangkok, as per the officer. The outlet mentioned how the crane was working on a rail project linking Thailand and China. The country’s Ministry of Public Health shared that at least 31 people passed away in this incident and 64 were injured.

There were 195 people on board at the time of the incident, as per a translated post that was shared on the Public Relations Team of the State Railway of Thailand.
