Macaulay Culkin Says ‘I Thought We Had Time’ in Heartbreaking Tribute to Home Alone ‘Mama’ Catherine O’Hara

Posted on January 31, 2026 By admin

Macaulay Culkin recently shared a deeply emotional tribute to Catherine O’Hara after news of her death went viral yesterday.

The comedy icon passed away at the age of 71 and was known for a number of leading roles in Hollywood movies, especially in Home Alone, where she played the part of Culkin’s mother.

The actor shared how much she meant to him and how her presence was both personally and professionally very important to him.

Sources shared how she was more than just a co-star to the actress and soon became a cherished figure in his life. In the simple yet powerful Instagram post, he wrote: ‘Mama, I thought we had time…’ and then reflected on how much he wished they both could have shared moments together in the recent past.

His message showed now just emotions of sorrow at her death, but also a longing of convercations and moments that would never be able to happen again.

He paired the terms with images of the two of them: one for their time filming Home Alone and another from a major moment from years later, when O’Hara stood by him at his Hollywood Walk of Fame ceremony as he was honored.
