The Seattle Seahawks beat the New England Patriots 29–13 in Super Bowl LX, but off the field another battle was unfolding.
While the NFL featured Bad Bunny as the official halftime performer, Turning Point USA hosted a rival “All-American Halftime Show” streamed online. The event included performances from Brantley Gilbert, Lee Brice, Gabby Barrett, and was headlined by Kid Rock.
Almost immediately, viewers accused Kid Rock of lip-syncing. Social media filled with complaints, with many saying his performance lasted barely a minute and looked awkward and poorly executed.
Criticism intensified when old controversies resurfaced, including lyrics from a 2001 song and past comments he made on Saturday Night Live about underage girls. The renewed attention sparked backlash, with many calling his appearance inappropriate and offensive.
Still, some fans praised the show, calling it a fun alternative to the NFL’s halftime spectacle.
The livestream reportedly peaked at around 5 million viewers and has since gained over 18 million views on YouTube, making it a highly watched—but highly controversial—counter-event.
