Dana Eden, the Emmy-winning Israeli producer behind the hit spy drama Tehran, has died unexpectedly at 52 in Athens, Greece, where the show’s fourth season was in production. Greek authorities, who found her in a hotel room, cited suicide as the likely cause and ruled out foul play or any criminal or nationalistic involvement.
Eden, a major figure in Israeli television, earned acclaim for Tehran on Apple TV+ and had produced several notable series, including Saving the Wildlife, Magpie, and Shakshouka. Israel’s public broadcaster KAN praised her as a central force in the industry.
Tehran, praised for its realism, follows a Mossad agent sent undercover in Iran and has drawn international attention, including Glenn Close in season two. The series’ global success led Apple TV+ to greenlight season four.
