Rondale Moore, an NFL wide receiver, was found dead at his home in New Albany, Indiana on Saturday at age 25. Authorities say he died from a suspected self-inflicted gunshot wound and the case is still under investigation.
Moore rose to national attention playing college football at Purdue University, where he earned All-American honors during a record-breaking freshman season in 2018.
He was selected in the second round of the 2021 NFL Draft by the Arizona Cardinals and played there from 2021 to 2023. In 2024 he was traded to the Atlanta Falcons but suffered a season-ending injury. He later joined the Minnesota Vikings in 2025, where another injury ended his season during preseason.
The National Football League and Vikings coach Kevin O’Connell shared condolences, remembering Moore as a humble and dedicated athlete whose career was repeatedly challenged by injuries.
