Fans of America’s Next Top Model know Miss J. Alexander as the iconic runway coach who appeared alongside Tyra Banks. Now, Alexander has revealed he currently “can’t walk” after suffering a serious stroke.

According to a GoFundMe created by friends, he had a debilitating stroke on December 27, 2022, and was found unresponsive by his niece. After spending five weeks in a coma, he was left unable to walk or speak and spent nearly a year and a half in rehabilitation. During that time he also experienced mini-strokes, seizures, and several hospitalizations.

Over the past three years, Alexander has been working hard to recover but remains in a wheelchair with limited movement in his right arm. Friends launched a fundraiser to help cover ongoing medical care, therapy, and daily support.

So far, the campaign has raised about $29,000 toward its $50,000 goal as Alexander continues his fight to regain independence.
