President Donald Trump still leads in overall popularity despite lower job approval ratings. A new NBC News poll shows 41% of respondents view Trump favorably, compared to 34% for former Vice President Kamala Harris and 27% for California Gov. Gavin Newsom, both potential Democratic candidates for the 2028 presidential race.
Harris has sparked speculation about another presidential run after reviving her social media and releasing a book about the 2024 election. She has not ruled out running again, saying she “might” consider it.
Meanwhile, Harris has criticized Trump’s foreign policy, accusing him of dragging the U.S. into conflicts abroad, including recent tensions involving Iran. She has also called Trump an “unchecked, incompetent, unhinged president” and urged Democrats to strongly oppose his administration.
The NBC poll surveyed 1,000 people from Feb. 27 to March 3 with a margin of error of about 3.1%.
