Catholic Deacon Killed in Bear Attack Left Heartbreaking Final Message to Father

Posted on July 9, 2026 By admin

A Catholic deacon and experienced outdoorsman, Anthony Pollio, 33, is believed to have died in a bear attack at Glacier National Park.

Before his death, Anthony left an emotional voicemail for his father during a hiking trip, describing his adventure and ending with the words, “Love you, Dad.” His father said it was the last message he received from his son.

Anthony was found dead along the Mt. Brown Trail with injuries consistent with a bear attack. His family described him as fearless and passionate about nature, trail work, hunting, and serving his church. Authorities continue investigating the incident.
