Eight-year-old Reese Bryan, a Nebraska cheerleader, has died from a catastrophic brain bleed. Her parents have filed a lawsuit alleging negligence against her cheer organization, Omaha Elite Cheer, and her pediatrician.
Reese, who had a known neurological condition, reportedly continued performing flips and tumbling despite symptoms like dizziness, vomiting, facial drooping, and abnormal eye movements. Imaging scans were allegedly never ordered, leaving a brain tumor undetected.
The lawsuit claims coaches left her unattended after she collapsed on January 29, 2024. She was hospitalized for nearly three weeks before passing on February 23. Her parents seek justice, alleging medical malpractice and negligence.
Elite Cheer and the pediatric practice declined comment due to ongoing litigation.
