Stevie Young, AC/DC’s rhythm guitarist and nephew of co-founder Malcolm Young, has been hospitalized in Buenos Aires just days before the band’s “Power Up” world tour. The 69-year-old “was not feeling well” and is undergoing precautionary medical tests. A spokesperson confirmed he’s in good spirits and looking forward to performing on Monday.
Born in Glasgow in 1956, Stevie moved to Australia and built a career with bands like Starfighters before officially joining AC/DC in 2014, replacing his uncle Malcolm. He has since helped preserve the band’s signature sound on albums including Rock or Bust and Power Up.
