A newborn baby boy died just two days after birth following a circumcision at a private clinic in California.
Authorities say the doctor, Hong-An Jan, may have given the wrong drug—allegedly a strong narcotic instead of a local anesthetic. After the procedure, the baby became weak and unresponsive, but the parents claim the doctor told them it was normal and sent them home.
The next day, the baby stopped breathing and could not be saved. Reports later linked the death to drug intoxication, calling it preventable.
The doctor now faces involuntary manslaughter charges, denies wrongdoing, and has had his medical license suspended. The parents have filed a lawsuit for malpractice and wrongful death.
Rest in peace, little angel.
