A Florida community is mourning the deaths of 14-year-olds George Watts and Derrick Hubbard, who were killed in a tragic accident when a sand tunnel they were digging at Sportsman Park in Inverness collapsed on January 11. The boys had been building the tunnel for nearly two weeks.
Families raised the alarm when the teens didn’t return home, leading authorities to find their bicycles and shoes near the collapsed sand pit. Emergency crews rescued them after about 30 minutes, but both succumbed to their injuries.
