Two boys, aged 12 and 13, are facing serious charges after causing over $50,000 in damage to a school library in Deltona, Florida.
According to the Volusia Sheriff’s Office, they broke into Friendship Elementary School, trashed the library—throwing books, damaging furniture, and writing graffiti—then returned later to cause even more destruction and triggered a fire alarm.
Surveillance footage helped identify them, but it was their own mothers who ultimately turned them in. The boys later confessed.
They now face multiple charges, including burglary and vandalism, and could face serious consequences in the juvenile system.
The case sparked strong reactions online, with many praising the mothers for holding their children accountable, while others suggested the boys should help clean and repair the damage themselves.
