Kristin Cabot is speaking out about her former boss, Andy Byron, months after a viral “kiss cam” moment at a Coldplay concert sparked widespread controversy. During the show, the pair embraced on camera, prompting Chris Martin to joke they might be having an “affair.” The clip led to intense public scrutiny, criticism, and death threats, affecting Cabot’s personal life and career.
At the time, Cabot was head of HR at Astronomer, where Byron was CEO. Both later stepped away from their roles. Although both were married, Cabot was divorcing and believed Byron was in a similar situation.
In a new interview on The Oprah Podcast, Cabot said she “ended communication” with Byron last fall, citing a “big miss on honesty and integrity” and saying he wasn’t who he claimed to be. She declined to elaborate further, noting the need to protect privacy.
Cabot revealed that in the weeks after the concert, she and Byron kept in touch mainly for “crisis management advice,” but by September they agreed to stop communicating.
Reflecting on the fallout, Cabot said she felt treated far more harshly than Byron, with her appearance and every detail scrutinized. “I own the poor decision I made in that moment, and I’ve paid an unimaginable price for that,” she said.
