Ray Stevens, 87, is recovering at home after a fall on March 29 in Nashville left him with a broken neck. The Grammy-winning country star is wearing a neck brace for four weeks but remains mobile and in good spirits. His upcoming album Favorites Old & New is still set to release on April 10 via Curb Records.
This follows a recent health scare last summer, when Stevens underwent minimally invasive heart surgery after a mild heart attack, canceling shows at the CabaRay Showroom while he recovered.
Born Harold Ray Ragsdale on January 24, 1939, Stevens rose to fame with hits like “The Streak,” “Gitarzan,” and Grammy-winning “Everything Is Beautiful,” blending humor with heartfelt music. Over his decades-long career, he’s earned multiple Grammys and acclaim as a singer, songwriter, producer, and arranger.
