‘Game of Thrones’ Actor Passed Away At 35!

Posted on April 9, 2026 By admin

Actor and writer Michael Patrick has died at 35. The Irish actor—who appeared in Season 6 of Game of Thrones—passed away in hospice care, his wife Naomi Sheehan shared on Instagram on April 8.

Patrick had been battling Motor Neuron Disease, a progressive illness that attacks nerves controlling movement. His family did not disclose his specific diagnosis.

“Last night, Mick sadly passed away in the Northern Ireland Hospice,” Sheehan wrote. “He was diagnosed February 1, 2023, admitted 10 days ago, and passed peacefully surrounded by family and friends. Mick was an inspiration to everyone who knew him. He lived fully, with joy, laughter, and abundance of spirit. Eat. Drink. Love.”

Patrick’s final social media post came on February 6, noting his neurologist had given him about a year to live, but he still had plans and hope for the future.

A Cambridge graduate, Patrick performed in multiple Shakespeare productions with the Royal Shakespeare Company and continued acting even after his illness required a wheelchair. In 2024, he starred as Richard III at Belfast’s Lyric Theatre. On TV, he appeared in Game of Thrones and BBC series including This Town and Blue Lights.
