Anderson Cooper is leaving 60 Minutes after nearly 20 years, choosing not to renew his contract as a correspondent.
The 57-year-old Anderson Cooper said the decision was driven by family life, explaining he wants more time with his young sons while they’re still small.
Cooper, who joined 60 Minutes in 2007 while continuing work at CNN, will remain at CNN and continue anchoring Anderson Cooper 360°. CBS News thanked him for his long career on the program and left the door open for a possible return.
