The love story of the two stars began in 1993 when they acted together in Anna Christie on Broadway, where they quickly developed a strong connection despite her being married at the time. After her marriage ended, they wed in 1994 and went on to have two sons.
Their bond grew deeper through marriage and parenthood, welcoming their first son in 1995 and a second 18 months later. The actress, Natasha Richardson, once said she wasn’t bothered by Liam Neeson’s reputation, adding she understood why women loved him.
Tragedy struck in 2009 when Richardson suffered a fatal head injury during a skiing accident. She was later declared brain dead, and Neeson honored a prior agreement by making the heartbreaking decision to remove her from life support after family and friends said their goodbyes.
Their son, Micheál, later became an actor and changed his surname to Richardson in tribute to his mother, saying it was a way to carry her with him. Neeson supported the decision, calling it a beautiful gesture and expressing pride in his son.
Micheál has since built his own acting career, even working with his father in films like Cold Pursuit and Made in Italy, keeping his mother’s legacy alive through both his name and work.
