A camel in India reportedly killed its owner in a shocking 2016 incident in the Barmer district after being left tied up in extreme heat without water or shade. Temperatures had reached over 100°F, and the animal was reportedly distressed after hours in the sun.
When the owner, Urjaram, finally came to untie it, the camel suddenly attacked him, throwing him to the ground and fatally injuring him in front of villagers. It then continued to behave aggressively until around 25 people took hours to restrain it.
Locals claimed there had been previous tension between the animal and its owner. While camels are usually calm and used to desert conditions, experts note they can become extremely dangerous if mistreated or pushed too far due to their size and strength.
