Brad Arnold, lead singer and co-founder of 3 Doors Down, has died at 47 after a battle with cancer, the band confirmed. He passed away peacefully in his sleep, surrounded by his wife and family.
Arnold originally co-founded the band as a teenager, first playing drums before becoming lead vocalist. He helped drive their global success in the 2000s with hits like “Kryptonite,” “Here Without You,” and “It’s Not My Time.”
He wrote “Kryptonite” at just 15, a song that launched the band’s career and turned them into one of the biggest rock acts of the era. In 2025, he was diagnosed with advanced kidney cancer that had spread to his lungs, forcing the band to cancel upcoming tour plans.
