Former New York Jets quarterback Browning Nagle has died at age 57 after battling colon cancer, according to the New York Post.
Nagle, born in 1968 in Indiana, starred at the University of Louisville and earned MVP honors in the 1991 Fiesta Bowl after defeating Alabama.
He was selected 34th overall in the 1991 NFL Draft by the New York Jets, one pick after Brett Favre. Nagle played three seasons with the Jets and later had stints with the Indianapolis Colts and Atlanta Falcons.
Over his NFL career, he started 14 games, throwing eight touchdowns and 20 interceptions. After retiring from football, he stayed mostly out of the public eye.
