Three months after Savannah Guthrie’s mother, Nancy Guthrie, vanished from her Tucson home, police have clarified reports about human remains found nearby. A human bone discovered about seven miles away was confirmed by Tucson Police to be non-criminal, linked instead to a prehistoric anthropological investigation with the University of Arizona and medical examiners involved.
Nancy, 84, was reported missing on Feb. 1 after an alleged abduction, and the case remains unsolved months later. Savannah has described her family as being “in agony,” while relatives continue to push for answers.
Authorities have suggested progress in the investigation, though details remain unclear. Meanwhile, officials overseeing the case face separate scrutiny over their conduct and leadership.
FBI Director Kash Patel has criticized how the case is being handled, and advocate Elizabeth Smart has said Nancy could still be alive, urging continued search efforts until answers are found.
