Patty Maloney, beloved for her role as Alice Bates on Little House on the Prairie, has passed away at 89. Her brother, Dave Myrabo, confirmed she died on March 31, 2025, after battling multiple strokes.

Born on March 17, 1936, in Perkinsville, New York, Maloney began her entertainment career at age three on Broadway. After her father’s death when she was seven, she moved to Winter Park, Florida, where she later worked in various traveling shows and even with the Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus. She eventually worked for National Airlines and later returned to acting.

In 2010, Maloney’s health declined with age-related macular degeneration, which impacted her vision. She is survived by her brother, nieces, and brother-in-law.

Patty Maloney’s legacy as a talented actress and kind person will be remembered fondly. Rest in peace.
