Loren Schauers was living a normal life in Montana until a devastating forklift accident in September 2019 changed everything. At just 19 years old, Loren was driving a forklift across a bridge when it collapsed, sending the vehicle falling 50 feet to the ground and trapping him underneath.
Conscious during the entire accident, Loren suffered catastrophic injuries that crushed the lower half of his body. Doctors gave him a heartbreaking choice: undergo a rare surgery removing the lower half of his body or die. Supported by his girlfriend Sabia Schauers and his family, Loren chose to fight for his life.
Doctors doubted he would survive, and Sabia was forced to say goodbye to him multiple times during his hospital stay. But Loren defied expectations. After months of recovery and rehabilitation, he survived and eventually married Sabia in 2020.
Despite losing half his body and facing lifelong medical challenges, Loren remained positive. He often says people should focus on what they still have rather than what they’ve lost. Together, Loren and Sabia now share their journey on YouTube, inspiring hundreds of thousands of followers with their strength, honesty, and love.
Over the years, Loren has openly discussed his recovery, chronic pain, and daily life, while also setting boundaries around deeply personal questions. Though some friendships changed after the accident, Loren says Sabia’s support gave him everything he needed to keep moving forward.
