Madeleine McCann’s disappearance remains one of the world’s most heartbreaking unsolved cases. A new documentary, The Unseen Evidence, recently renewed attention on prime suspect Christian Brueckner after disturbing evidence from a 2016 police raid was revealed, including children’s items and hidden storage devices containing explicit material.
Madeleine vanished in 2007 while on vacation with her family in Praia da Luz, Portugal, after her parents, Kate McCann and Gerry McCann, left their children sleeping in the apartment while dining nearby. When Kate returned to check on them, Madeleine was gone.
Years later, Kate revealed her biggest regret: a restaurant note explaining that the group wanted a table close to the apartment because their children were sleeping alone. She feared the abductor may have seen the message, calling it something the family would regret forever.
Despite having no major updates, the McCanns recently marked the 18th anniversary of Madeleine’s disappearance with an emotional statement, saying they remain determined to “leave no stone unturned” and continue to celebrate and remember their daughter every day.
